I organized a reading of my play Beast Eden Way a couple of weeks ago. A group of us listened to two talented performers read the script. We then had a discussion so that I could get ideas about what to do for the next draft.
Beast Eden Way is my suburbia play, written originally for 1157 Performance Group in England, and now being redeveloped by Platform 9 Theatre, Toronto.
After the reading, my director described it using references to Ionesco, Pinter, and Beckett, which is a bit much, don’t you think, and there are no women in that list either, so what does that say? Anyway, the triumvirate connection is worthy of a drool or two.
